{"id":28,"date":"2014-02-24T20:52:04","date_gmt":"2014-02-25T01:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.karenstacey.com\/?p=28"},"modified":"2014-02-24T23:27:23","modified_gmt":"2014-02-25T04:27:23","slug":"building-communication-bridges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karenstacey.com\/?p=28","title":{"rendered":"Building Communication Bridges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Tahoma;\">Building Communication Bridges<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Tahoma;\">I have run into a couple of conversations and situations over the last several days that make me stop and wonder why more of us are not cognizant of how our behavior (and words) can create such havoc in our lives and relationships.\u00a0 Are we so self absorbed in our own selves that we have lost site of the importance and ability to bridge the common difference between our personality, behavior or leadership styles?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Tahoma;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Tahoma;\">As a consultant and trainer I use many tools to help people understand themselves so that they can better understand others.\u00a0 These tools are designed to help us see how strengths and weaknesses contribute to positive and effective relationships and communication.\u00a0 Building self-awareness is the first step to getting to know others.\u00a0 It is insightful when we come to know and accept who we are and how what we do, our behaviors and actions may be perceived by others.\u00a0 Our next, step is to identify and understand the styles of others that are different from us. \u00a0What are their drivers, motivators, fears, strengths, and weaknesses?\u00a0 How can their strengths complement our weaknesses and visa-versa?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Tahoma;\">If you are interested in learning more about the <i>Everything DiSC<\/i> <sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a9<\/span><\/sup> assessment tools please let us know.\u00a0 We will be happy to share sample reports and discuss how our clients have been using these tools successfully for years.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Building self-awareness is the first step to getting to know others.
